Experiencing and integrating the Munay-Ki Rites
These rites are the rites of the shaman’s path of the descendants of the Laika, the indigenous peoples of the holy mountains of the Andes in Peru. While the ceremonies and styles of these Rites vary culture to culture, they are common in shamanic tradition. The rites are received as seeds in the energetic architecture of the luminous body that surrounds the physical body. The more free the luminous field is from the dense energy of past wounding and trauma, tension and disease, the more rapidly the seeds of the rites will grow. As we integrate the rites into our luminous architecture, our awareness of the areas where we are most in need of healing may become more evident. Our healing journey will accelerate. As the gifts of the rites are developed, every action and interaction will be informed by them. If we step away from alignment with our newly-organizing self, the rites of the Munay-Ki will quickly reflect reminders in our day-to-day experience to return to right relationship. The seeds then grown and nurtured support us to move through our lives in greater connection to the sacred.
"Gifting" the Rites
Traditionally initiates work with an elder for many years in sacred study before and between receiving rites of passage. However, we are now in a time of quickening, a critical juncture in our human history. These rites have been translated into an essential, silent form to allow for human to human transmission. This is with the blessing of the elders of the Q’ero nation, the descendants of the Laika who are the keepers of these rites. It is hoped that these rites be transmitted to as many individuals as possible now and in the coming times. While it is not a requirement for receiving the rites, it is asked that once you receive them that you strongly consider passing these rites along to others in a way that is comfortable for you. As the Rites mature in a core number of people on our planet, others will be drawn along into this new consciousness; creating an exponential impact and awakening. According to prophecy, we will then witness the birth of a new form of human on the planet and the dawn of a new civilization. So it is a blessing to all to envision yourself receiving the rites with the intention of passing them on.
Sharing the Rites
On the first day of the Munay-Ki you will receive a DVD that will guide you on how to administer the rites to others. At the workshop you will be shown essential steps of creating sacred space for yourself, and for your recipients when you offer them the rites. It is requested that you view the DVD prior to the second gathering and periodically as helpful.
Supporting your own healing process
The Rites may invite momentum in your clearing and healing process. You are encouraged to follow the healing path to which you are called. Should you be called to further explore the shamanic tradition, Sherri Rainingbird, LMFT as well as her colleagues are available for private sessions.
Gifting the facilitators of the Munay-Ki Rites
In keeping with tradition of the Munay-Ki Rites, the recipients will offer the giver a small gift to acknowledge gratitude and create reciprocity for the exchange. While this is optional, it is strongly suggested to do so in honor and reverence to the lineage and the tradition. Please have one gift for each rite you will receive at each ceremony. Gifts can be a small token such as a candle, stone or crystal, feather, flower, etc. In preparation for the first ceremony, you will need four gifts.
Cost of participation
The cost associated with the Munay-Ki ceremony covers materials, non-ceremony facilitation time, space rental, and related expenses. In keeping with the request of our elders, actual time spent in ceremony is gifted. While other offerings, workshops, trainings and healing sessions of these traditions reflect standard fees, these rites are an exception. Those gifting you the Rites do so out of their generosity, commitment to our collective healing, and shared vision of a healed planet.
Dress
Comfortable dress (layers are ideal) is recommended.
Workshop and ceremony preparation
Cushions will be available for floor seating. If you prefer, feel free to bring your own cushion, backjack or items for personal comfort. It may be helpful to have a pen or paper handy, but little note taking will be needed.
Registration and Contact Information
Sherri Rainingbird, LMFT, Shamanic Healing & Integrative Psychotherapy will facilitate the workshop presentation, and preside in the ceremonies that follow. Assisting the group and gifting the rites in ceremony will be healers in the shamanic traditions and others who have received the Munay-Ki Rites.
